The Wood Window Alliance

Building Nature Into Architecture

Building Nature into Architecture

The Wood Window Alliance is an organisation that promotes and champions the beauty, efficiency and durability of wood window frames.

The theme of the event is “Building Nature into Architecture” and we will explore how natural materials, including wood, can help improve sustainability, lower carbon emissions, reduce waste and even decrease stress in modern buildings.

The vision for the events is to bring architects, manufacturers and thought leaders together in rediscovering the beauty of wood as a building material, and discussing its intrinsic qualities, its use as a traditional material, and its ability to provide modern solutions for many current build environment’s needs.

WWA held the first of the two events in Manchester on 9th May in partnership with Manchester Society of Architects – the event was a great success. WWA had two guest speakers lined up, including Eleanor Brough from Sarah Wigglesworth Architects.
