Last month the NDSA held its 2019 summer BBQ in Nottingham on the terrace of Pitcher & Piano. The NDSA issued an invitation across the Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire area, as well as subscribers to the website, bringing together a cascade of intra-industry professionals.

Tickets for the BBQ, which was sponsored by Aluhaus, Nora, Schulter, and Lime Green, were gone within less than one week of going online and market an excellent opportunity for members to meet with the Committee.

The NDSA Committee was represented by Chair Joshua von Fragstein, Heritage & Social Officer Rory Wood (event organiser), Education Officers Michael Hodgson & Ayesha Batool and Hon. Secretary Paul MacMahon.

With attendance from broad cross section of the local architectural community, the BBQ provided an opportunity for members to meet with one another and discuss ideas and initiatives moving forward.

An update on NDSA projects to date was made by the NDSA Committee, which included details of the inaugural NDSA Student Award Scheme to be held in the Urban Room on October 16th 2019.

Chair Joshua von Fragstein gave an overview of other ongoing NDSA initiatives and their respective status regarding financial backing from RIBA. via LIF funding.

The event was documented by local photographer Lamar Francois. Click here for Lamar’s website and portfolio. The NDSA is very grateful to Lamar for sharing his work with us. All photographs are subject to copyright and reproduced here by kind permission of Lamar Francois.

Many thanks go out from the NDSA for the contributions from sponsors by Aluhaus, Nora, Schulter, and Lime Green, without which the event would not be possible.

The NDSA has welcomed all support that has since followed. We look forward to working together with the local architecture community and RIBA membership to deliver more for each other.
