“We put ourselves forward to form the new organising committee of the NDSA as we believe we can contribute positively to the society in a manner which will benefit all architects and architecture students across Derby and Nottingham. All those who want to be involved in the society through exhibitions, talks on contemporary architectural matters, important local architecture (both new and old) as well as on an international level, are encouraged to get involved.

Our own motivations vary but ultimately we have come together because we want to be able to develop a progressive, inclusive, and proactive architecture community across the two cities and surrounding regions. With the recently revamped website and events we aim to provide a platform through which we can do this.

We encourage our members and supporters to engage with us in submitting proposals for articles for the website, events, talks, workshops, and exhibitions that can help stimulate professional debate.

We encourage contributions that reflect the ‘Seven Principles of Public Life’ and' ‘The Monbiot Principles’ along with other proven and established measures of integrity and leadership. By asking what is important, and how to engage, we hope these values and principles-based approach will help deliver quality content in an equitable and meaningful way.”
